In the video, the Prime Minister said at the Wednesday cabinet meeting, they heard the report of Minister for European Union Affairs János Bóka on the topic.
"Ukraine is demanding 800 billion dollars of Europe for the next ten years, and the Brusselites want to take this away from the Member States, including from us Hungarians," he added.
The Prime Minister said they agreed at the cabinet meeting that "we must reject the Brussels demands, we don't want to pay for the war, we don't want to pay the Ukrainians' bills, and neither do we want to pay energy prices that spiralled out of control due to the war."
He added that "if we were to yield to their demands," then our next ten years would be not about Hungarian families, but "about the Brussels exaction."
"We cannot allow this to happen," the Prime Minister pointed out.
Mr Orbán stated: they therefore decided to launch a petition.
"We count on every Hungarian's support, we want to tell Brussels together that they shouldn't count on us, we're not going to pay," he said.
