This morning, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo received a business delegation from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden at the National Palace. Led by the Wallenberg Group, the delegation comprised approximately 100 senior executives from Nordic companies, including ABB, Aker, AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Lego, Maersk, Nokia, Novo Nordisk, Vestas, and Volvo.
The Wallenberg Group is one of Europe's foremost business conglomerates, with holdings spanning telecommunications, technology, industry, manufacturing, and life sciences. Through its banking arm, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), and its primary investment vehicle, Investor AB, the group holds significant stakes in major global companies. Taken together, the businesses within its ecosystem generate combined revenues exceeding $385 billion, employ nearly 1.5 million people, and operate in approximately 180 countries, including Mexico. This visit marks the first Nordic business mission of its scale to the country.
During the meeting at the National Palace, President Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico's doors are open to all businesses interested in investing in the country. She fielded questions from the attendees on the energy, pharmaceutical, agro-industrial, and telecommunications sectors.
SEB Chairman Marcus Wallenberg noted that multiple Nordic investments aligned with the Mexico Plan have already been announced. He reiterated his commitment to continue building a lasting Nordic corporate presence in Mexico over the long term. The dialogue was moderated by Foreign Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente.
