Overnight Ramp Closures on I-280 between Ocean Ave. and San Bruno Ave., in San Francisco due to maintenance work

San Francisco - Caltrans will be working on road repairs on ramps along Interstate 280 in San Francisco. The first repair location takes place at the Lyell St. undercrossing at the Monterey Blvd. on ramp and off ramps, starting at 7PM and completing by 7AM, beginning Thursday, October 24. This includes placing polyester concrete overlay, replacing joint seals, and repairing asphalt concrete approaches at six ramps at seven locations.

The locations include Monterey Blvd. on-ramp overcrossing, San Jose Ave. undercrossing, Lyell St. undercrossing, I-280/U.S. 101 interchange: NB U.S. 101 to NB 280 (lower deck); I-280/101 Interchange: SB 280 to SB 101 (upper deck), I-280/101 Interchange: NB 280, and the I-280/101 Interchange: SB 280.

The repairs will occur on a segment of I-280 from Ocean Ave. to San Bruno Ave., each night for durations from one to eight hours on southbound and northbound directions. The project duration is three-months. All repairs will take place at night and may require partial to full lane, ramp closures. The purpose of the work is to prolong the useful service life and integrity of six bridges, at seven locations in the city and county of San Francisco.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed January 2025, weather permitting.
