Man Booked on Open Murder Charge in Death of 68-Year-Old Woman
HENDERSON, Nev. (June 16, 2026) - Detectives with the Henderson Police Department have arrested 37-year-old Markus Williams, in connection with a 2022 homicide investigation.
On January 7, 2022, at approximately 4:51 p.m., Henderson Police officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Indian Bend Drive to conduct a welfare check. The person who reported the incident stated that they had not heard from their friend, 68-year-old Yong Temple, and were concerned for her well-being. Officers entered the residence and found Temple deceased inside.
The investigation revealed that Temple died from blunt force trauma to the head/neck resulting in asphyxia.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Williams was taken into custody and booked at the Henderson Detention Center on a charge of Open Murder.
This investigation involved the collaborative efforts of the Henderson Police Department's Cold Case unit, the Henderson Police Department's Crime Scene Analyst Unit, Henderson Police Department Intelligence Unit, Henderson Police Investigative Division and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Forensic DNA Laboratory.
