City Of Las Vegas Hosts Hiring Fair June 10-11 For Safekey Program
Various Positions And Shifts Available For Before- And After-School Care Program
The city of Las Vegas is looking to fill more than 100 hourly positions in its Safekey program for the upcoming school year and will host a hiring event/job fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, June 10-11, in the first-floor Human Resources department at Las Vegas Civic Center, 525 S. Main St. Convenient parking is available at the 500 S. Main St. parking garage at 500 S. Main St.
Employment will begin Aug. 10, 2026. Participants should bring their resumes, Social Security cards and valid documents for employment authorization, and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews, offers and onboarding. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance registration is encouraged. Those who apply online by June 7 and are eligible will receive an email to self-schedule an interview time prior to the event. Interview times will be available at 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day.
Positions average 19-25 hours per week with a pay range of $14-$25 per hour, plus up to $800 bonus pay based on the number of hours worked. The Safekey before- and after-school program offers recreation and academic enrichment at more than 70 elementary schools within the city of Las Vegas. These programs provide a safe environment where children in kindergarten through fifth grade have time to work on homework, participate in extended academic opportunities, have a nutritious afternoon snack and engage in fun recreational activities. These programs are offered on days that the schools hold classes.

Minimum 18 years of age.

Infant, Child and Adult CPR/AED and First-Aid certification at time of start/reclassification.

Maintain the physical agility necessary to demonstrate and maintain sports and other recreation games and activities, move and maintain equipment up to 25 pounds, and other physical activities as needed to provide the safety, welfare and security necessary.

Experience using technology such as iPad, printer, cell phone and internet-based applications.

Formal and informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Position descriptions can be found online here.

Must be available for orientation trainings July 31-Aug. 1, 2026, and maintain all department-required trainings.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or high school equivalency credential, experience working with children in a group setting, and communication skills in more than one language.
