France condemns the recent remarks made by Israel's Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, in favor of Israel annexing the West Bank.

These remarks are contrary to international law and go against efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. France recalls its commitment to the implementation of a two-state solution, with the two states of Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security. This is the only way to achieve a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
