U.S. Factories Show Resilience in July

Washington, D.C. - U.S. factories gained 5,000 jobs in July, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday.

Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul said:

"Given the challenges facing the sector right now, adding 5,000 manufacturing jobs in July is a win. Manufacturers are contending with supply chain disruptions, energy price volatility, and uncertainty in the global economy, yet they continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience.

"The lesson is clear: when we invest in American industry, it delivers. But progress could quickly stall if policymakers lose sight of the need to support domestic manufacturing, confront China's unfair trade practices, and build for the future."

U.S. manufacturing has gained 31K jobs since December 2025, when factory employment dropped to its most recent nadir.

"That's not a massive surge," Paul said, "but it sure beats the decline of 323K factory we saw from 2023 to 2025, spanning two administrations."
