Morocco, Comoros Sign Visa Exemption Agreement for Diplomatic & Service Passport…

Morocco and the Union of the Comoros signed on Wednesday in Addis Ababa an agreement on visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and service passports.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita and his Comorian counterpart Mr. Mbae Mohamed on the sidelines of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU).

Pursuant to this agreement, nationals of either Party holding diplomatic or service passports valid for at least six months are authorized to enter, stay, exit, and transit through the territory of the other Party without a visa for a period not exceeding 90 days within a period of 180 days from the date of first entry.

The agreement further stipulates that nationals of either Party who are members of diplomatic missions and consular representations accredited to the other Party, as well as members of their families forming part of their household and holding diplomatic or service passports, may enter, leave, stay, and transit through the territory of the other Party without a visa for the entire period of their accreditation.

Morocco is taking part in the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) with a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita.

This session precedes the 39th Summit of AU Heads of State and Government, scheduled for February 14 and 15.
