The man killed in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood on September 27, 2025, has been identified as Cesar Alejandro Cuevas-Morales, 32, of Venezuela. The Medical Examiner determined Cuevas-Morales died of gunshot wounds by homicide. His family has been notified of his death, and provided the attached photo. Cuevas-Morales' sister is Spanish-speaking, and will provide information to media via email. Interested media can contact PPB's Public Information Officer.

Man Dies Following Shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood
On Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 3:42 a.m., Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Southeast 130th Avenue. When they arrived, they found an adult male victim deceased in the street. The suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived, and no immediate arrests were made.
The Portland Police Detective Division Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is actively investigating. During the investigation, Southeast 130th Avenue is closed between Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast Rhone Street.
