Information for Residents of Gold Canyon Regarding Vegetation Control and Related Fire Safety

Pinal County and Superstition Fire & Medical District have been receiving calls from residents regarding vegetation control and fire safety. We understand your concerns regarding wildfire safety and the measures needed to protect your home and property. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community and providing the most up-to-date information on wildfire prevention.

Residents should be aware that neither Pinal County or Superstition Fire have authority to clear vegetation on Federal Land, State Land, HOA property or private property. Furthermore, neither the County nor the District can compel other government or private entities to clear or remove vegetation from their land. We can only provide recommendations for best practices, not enforcement. We attempt to take every opportunity to equip you with the knowledge and resources to enhance your home's wildfire safety.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT YOUR HOME FROM WILDFIRE

  • Clean roof surfaces and gutters regularly to avoid accumulation of flammable materials.
  • Replace or repair any loose or missing shingles or roof tiles to prevent ember penetration.
  • Repair or replace damaged or loose window screens and any broken window screens or box-in areas below patios and decks with wire mesh to prevent debris and combustible materials from accumulating.
  • Move any flammable material away from wall exteriors - mulch, flammable plants, leaves and needles, firewood piles - anything that can burn.
  • Remove anything stored underneath decks or porches.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to maintaining a safe community.
