Marquette Business has announced a new insurance concentration within the Finance Department. Launching in fall 2026, this concentration is a direct response to increased interest from employers, finance students and faculty.
The concentration builds on the college's expertise in applied business education, equipping students to meet the growing demand for qualified talent in the field. Graduates will be prepared for career paths throughout the industry, such as property and casualty, commercial business, life and annuities, and health insurance.
"Insurance is fundamental to the world economy, enabling people and businesses to take smart risks that create growth," says Jae Junkunc, Director of the Insurance Leadership Program. "The industry is vital, well-established and growing. There has never been a better time for business students to build expertise in this space."
The insurance concentration is designed to complement existing majors in the College of Business Administration. Its flexible structure allows students to seamlessly incorporate coursework, building in-demand, future-ready skills and pairing insurance expertise with core interests in existing business disciplines.
"This concentration gives students a clear path into one of the most stable and opportunity-rich sectors in the economy," Junkunc says. "With a comprehensive curriculum, hands-on learning and pathways to professional certifications, graduates will be ready to contribute meaningfully from day one."
Students are encouraged to speak with advisors about the insurance concentration and explore possible credit overlap. For more information, students can contact Jae Junkunc.
