The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia is partnering with district courts from across the nation to present the 2026 Virtual POWER Act event on Wednesday May 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET. The event is intended to promote pro bono legal services as a critical way to empower survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault; engage citizens; and help lift victims out of the cycle of violence. This year, speakers include U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain from the Southern District of New York and attorney Jennifer R. Rawlings of Yale University, who serves as co-director of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Rights. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. More details and registration instructions are in the flyer available here or at https://www.nynd.uscourts.gov/power-act-2026.
