At approximately 11:49 a.m. on July 8, the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) responded to an Alert III aircraft emergency involving a crash-landing near Cascade Lake, north of Tallahassee International Airport property.

Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) crews, along with TFD Station 4 personnel, arrived on scene to find a downed aircraft with one occupant. Firefighters treated the patient, who was transported by Leon County EMS for further evaluation. TFD Hazmat personnel also initiated fuel containment operations after identifying fuel leaking onto the aircraft's wings.

A search of the aircraft was completed to confirm no additional occupants were inside.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
