LA Tech Week opens with the nation's largest Tech Week event Oct. 13: A full week of innovation, startups, and community impact

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2025) - On Monday, Oct. 13, Tech St. Santa Monica will officially launch LA Tech Week 2025, transforming Ocean Avenue and areas of Palisades Park into a showcase of innovation, entrepreneurship and community connection.

The outdoor celebration is a significant expansion from last year's inaugural street fair and is a collaboration between the city of Santa Monica, Syndicate, the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), Hustle Fund, Alumni Ventures, Santa Monica Chamber and Santa Monica Travel & Tourism.

Blending technology, culture, and community, Tech St. Santa Monica will unite startups, venture capital firms, corporations, creators and residents to showcase the region's thriving innovation ecosystem. The event features Startup World Cup, Pegasus Tech Ventures, Hustle Fund, Alumni Ventures, Los Angeles Venture Association and more.

Experience exhibits, robotics demonstrations, performances, a beer garden, community partners and more.

Tech St. participants can also sign up to take part in the official Los Angeles Regional Startup World Cup Pitch Competition, in partnership with Pegasus Tech Ventures, where top startups, investors, and innovators across Southern California, offer the chance to compete on a global stage for a chance to win investment from top venture capital firms.

As the city celebrates 150 years, Tech St. Santa Monica celebrates Santa Monica as both a cultural destination and a longstanding hub for innovation, while also shining a light on Southern California's broader technology ecosystem.

The city of Santa Monica has long been a hub for innovation. The city is part of the region's "Silicon Beach," Southern California's answer to Silicon Valley, and is home to the headquarters for leading innovators, including social media platform Snapchat, online wellness app Headspace, health tech platform GoodRx, video game studio Activision Blizzard, and florist ecommerce platform Bloomnation, to name a few.

Santa Monica is also helped to incubate many cutting edge new technologies and products, including Coco food delivery, Bird Scooters, Happy Returns, Hidonix robotics, TrueCar, Liquid Death and Dollar Shave Club.

Top venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Clearstone Venture Partners and Upfront Ventures have chosen Santa Monica as home for their headquarters, underscoring the city's role as a launchpad for innovation.

Santa Monica government also has a long tradition of embracing innovation in its core value of sustainability.

The city is powered by the Clean Power Alliance as its leading power source, has one of the highest numbers of EV chargers per capita in the nation, and is home to City Hall East-one of the greenest municipal buildings in the world along with the world's first solar powered Ferris wheel on its pier. Looking ahead, Santa Monica is leading the way in clean transportation by transitioning its Big Blue Bus system, serving the Westside and greater Los Angeles region, to an all-electric fleet by 2032.

"As Santa Monica celebrates its 150th anniversary, we honor not only our city's rich history but also its enduring role as a hub of innovation," Mayor Lana Negrete said. "From pioneering advances in sustainability to nurturing leaders who have reshaped technology and business, Santa Monica has always been a place where bold ideas take root. As we welcome the global technology community to our shores for Tech St. Santa Monica, we carry the legacy forward of building a future that embodies our city's spirit of creativity, collaboration and forward-thinking innovation."
