Minister of Foreign Affairs attends the 37th ASEAN Coordinating Council

On 25 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 37th ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC) on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In attendance were foreign ministers from ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste.

The meeting was briefed on the progress of the preparation for Timor-Leste's full membership in ASEAN and the report from related ASEAN mechanisms in preparation of the current ASEAN Summit. The meeting also discussed and followed up on related issues with building the ASEAN Community and the implementation of important issues and deliverables under Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship.

The Foreign Minister underscored the importance of fostering awareness of ASEAN Community Vision 2045 for a broad audience and confirmed Thailand's readiness to collectively translate the Vision into practice. He also informed the meeting about the progress of the Complementarities Initiative 2.0 to align the Vision with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that Thailand will present to the 15th ASEAN - UN Summit for approval.
