The Simi Valley Senior Center, in partnership with the Council On Aging (COA), is excited to announce the return of the popular Friday Night Dances. Beginning in August and continuing through November 2025, these monthly gatherings invite community members to enjoy an evening of music, dancing, and community connection.
Held on the second Friday of each month, each dance will feature a live band, festive themes, refreshments, and a complimentary dance lesson, all for just $10 at the door at the Simi Valley Senior Center. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with dance lessons from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The upcoming event schedule includes:
• August 8, 2025: The Wyatt Haupt Trio with a Hawaiian Luau theme, featuring a cha cha lesson.
• September 12, 2025: Music by Zaremba with a Sock Hop theme, featuring a hustle dance lesson.
• October 10, 2025: The Pier 101 Band with a Halloween theme, featuring an East Coast Swing lesson.
• November 14, 2025: Tropic Starr Band with a Veterans Day theme, featuring a two-step lesson.
The Friday Night Dances serve as a fundraiser for COA programs that support local seniors and are made possible thanks to the dedication of community volunteers. Proceeds help advance the COA's mission to enhance the independence, safety, health, and quality of life of older adults in the Simi Valley community.
"These dances offer a wonderful opportunity for adults in our community to enjoy an evening of music, movement, and connection, all while supporting a meaningful cause," said COA Program Chair Dina McFee. "Whether you're a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, everyone is welcome."
