OCTA Taxpayer Oversight Committee invites public input at annual hearing on Measure M program
ORANGE - The Measure M Taxpayer Oversight Committee will hold its annual public hearing to review how transportation funds are being spent across Orange County to ensure projects are being delivered as promised to voters.
The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at OCTA Headquarters, 550 S. Main St., Conference Room 07, in Orange, Calif.
The hearing provides an opportunity for residents, stakeholders and interested parties to share feedback on the implementation of Measure M, the county's half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements originally approved by voters in 1990 and renewed in 2006.
The Taxpayer Oversight Committee was established to ensure accountability and transparency in how Measure M funds are spent. The committee monitors compliance with the plan and helps ensure that transportation investments are delivered as promised to Orange County voters.
Measure M continues to support a balanced approach to transportation improvements, including freeway enhancements, local street improvements and public transit investments, along with programs that protect the environment and improve quality of life across the county.
The renewed Measure M marked the halfway point of its lifespan this year. It's set to continue funding transportation improvements through 2041.
Community members are encouraged to attend the hearing and provide comments. Those who cannot attend may submit written comments by noon on Monday, June 8.
Written comments may be addressed to:
