The National Assembly standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is taking part in the PACE Winter Session in Strasbourg.
Our delegation, headed by Biljana Pantic Pilja, comprises Aleksandar Mirkovic, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, Elvira Kovacs, Vladimir Djordjevic, Djordje Stankovic and Tatjana Pasic.
The main topics of the session are against the international order - the case of Greenland, political crisis in the broader Middle East and the situation in Gaza after the ceasefire, the state of democratic institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, elections in times of crisis, strengthening democracies with the help of young people, supporting the commitment to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine and the post-monitoring dialogue with North Macedonia. The MEPs were addressed by Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset and the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. The members of the delegation actively participated in the sessions of the committees and political groups.
During the session, the Serbian delegation had a series of bilateral meetings with the delegations of Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey and Greece and contacts with a number of parliamentarians. In the meetings, the officials discussed current issues that dominated the session and the political situation in Europe, as well as modalities of cooperation and the improvement of parliamentary relations through the exchange of bilateral visits.
