Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will be present Order of the Guardian and Commissioner's awards at the Boone Fire Department during a visit on Thursday, Sept. 25.The award presentations will take place at 1 p.m. at 729 W. King St.
Commissioner Causey is expected to present the Order of the Guardian award to Fire Chief Jimmy Isaacs and Assistant Chief Mike Teague. The pair have a combined 84 years of service to the department.
Boone Town Manager Amy Davis will be honored for 25 years of service to the Town of Boone. James P. Marsh Jr. will be honored for service to the Boone Rural Fire Board.
The Commissioner's Award is given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service in the fire or insurance industries.
The Order of the Guardian Award is the highest honor given by NCDOI. These awards are given to individual service members, with 40 or more years of service, in fire and rescue, emergency management, law enforcement, surety bonds or any other area regulated by NCDOI.
