HONOLULU - The Hawai'i Public Utilities Commission has rescheduled the Hilo public hearing on Hawaiian Electric's rebasing application. The hearing was postponed because of Tropical Storm Nolo and will now be Wednesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. at Hawaiʻi Community College.
Following the public hearing, the commission will host a public informational meeting on Hawaiian Electric's service reliability and weather-related impacts at 7 p.m., or upon conclusion of the public hearing, whichever is later. The public hearing and informational meeting are distinct proceedings and residents are welcome to attend either event or both.
Hawaiian Electric is seeking an increase in annual revenues that would affect electric rates for customers on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island, Maui, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi.
Hawaiian Electric customers are encouraged to attend the hearing and share their views. Written comments referencing Docket No. 2026-0162 may also be submitted online, by email, or by mail.
