Rep. Fischer Applauds Governor's State of Emergency Declaration for Mahoning County

COLUMBUS, Ohio - State Representative Tex Fischer (R- Boardman) today applauds Governor Mike DeWine's decision to declare a state of emergency in Mahoning County following the severe storms and tornado that struck the area on Sunday.

The declaration comes after Rep. Fischer and Senator Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) requested the Governor issue a state of emergency to help accelerate recovery efforts and ensure affected communities have access to the resources needed to rebuild.

"Our priority has been making sure Mahoning County has every available resource to recover as quickly as possible," said Rep. Fischer. "This declaration will help expedite state assistance and provide much-needed support for cleanup efforts. We thank Governor DeWine for acting quickly on our request and stand ready to assist our communities throughout the recovery process."

The declaration directs all relevant State of Ohio departments and agencies to provide services, equipment, supplies, and personnel as necessary to support cleanup and recovery efforts in Mahoning County.

Rep. Fischer encourages residents to continue following guidance from local officials and to report storm damage through their local emergency management agencies as recovery efforts continue.
