'Pet of the Week'

In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.

This week's featured pet is Oreo Cookie, a 10-month-old American Pitbull mix. Oreo Cookie is still a puppy, which means he has lots of energy and is very friendly with other dogs and children. He is a cutie and has a sweet disposition. He is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, had flea treatment applied, and sterilized

Anyone interested in Oreo Cookie can submit an application through the "Adoptable Pets" page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. If approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for an in-person visit with Oreo Cookie.
