FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Visit Montgomery Expands Tourism Outreach with New Kiosk at Landis Arboretum

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. ----- Visit Montgomery County is looking for new ways to reach visitors and introduce them to the county's attractions, businesses and communities. A new trailhead information kiosk at Landis Arboretum will help do just that by connecting the thousands of people who visit the Arboretum each year with more opportunities to explore Montgomery County.

Funded through Montgomery County's Tourism Infrastructure Grant program, the kiosk is located at the west entrance of the Arboretum's waterfall trail at the end of Lape Road. Approximately 75 acres of the Arboretum's grounds are located within Montgomery County, featuring about 4 miles of trails for visitors to explore, with an additional half mile planned for the future.

The Waterfall Trail and Hickory Hill Trail each offer approximately 1 mile of out-and-back hiking. The new kiosk will help visitors navigate the trail system while providing information about nearby restaurants, historic sites, cultural destinations and other local attractions.

"The kiosk will benefit both Landis Arboretum and Montgomery County by allowing us to share information with visitors and helping them locate the trails throughout the property," Landis Arboretum Executive Director Fred Breglia said.

"Landis Arboretum is an incredible asset that brings people to our region," Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman said. "This project gives us an opportunity to connect with those visitors and show them there is even more to discover in Montgomery County, whether that means visiting a historic site, stopping at a local restaurant or planning another trip to explore the area."

The project supports Visit Montgomery County's efforts to expand its reach by connecting with visitors at established destinations and encouraging them to explore more of the county. By linking outdoor recreation with nearby attractions and businesses, the kiosk can help encourage longer visits, support the local economy and inspire return trips.
