On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm wishes to the people of Mali as they mark the 66th anniversary of their independence.
The United States values its longstanding partnership with Mali and looks forward to deepening ties in the years ahead. American businesses are eager to explore partnerships in sectors where Mali's resources and talent can drive prosperity.
We are deeply cognizant of the security challenges that the government and people of Mali are facing. We applaud your efforts to combat the threats posed to Mali and the region from terrorist organizations.
