Requesting Input for Proposed actions to Public and Charitable Applicant -

Noncompetitive Conveyance - ADL 234765

Noncompetitive Lease - ADL 234821

Comment Period Ends 4:30 PM, WEDNESDAY, June 10, 2026

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) is conducting public notice for two proposed noncompetitive actions located within DNR's Southcentral region, approximately 3 miles east of Palmer. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) is the applicant for both actions. The legal descriptions are:

  • Public and Charitable Conveyance - ADL 234765: Section 31, Township 18 North, Range 3 East, Seward Meridian, Alaska, according to the plat accepted by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in Denver, Colorado, on October 17, 1979, containing approximately 631.72 acres, more or less.
  • Public and Charitable Lease - ADL 234821: That portion of Section 31, Township 18 North, Range 3 East, Seward Meridian, Alaska, according to the plat accepted by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in Denver, Colorado, on October 17, 1979, containing approximately 12 acres, more or less.

The proposed lease (ADL 234821) is located within the parcel identified for the proposed land conveyance (ADL 234765). The purpose of the proposed lease is to allow MSB an opportunity to develop a portion of the proposed land conveyance. These proposed actions are being noticed concurrently but are not interdependent; each action will be evaluated on its own merits and decided independently.

Pursuant to AS 38.05.945 Notice, the public is invited to submit comments on the Preliminary Decisions and Mineral Order for which notice is being conducted concurrently. If commenting on more than one proposed action, separate comments should be submitted for each. The deadline for public comment is 4:30 PM, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 2026. Only persons from whom DNR DMLW LCS receives timely, written comment during the identified comment period will be eligible to file a request for reconsideration of the Final Finding and Decisions (FFDs) or related action.
