District Highlights: Breaking Ground on the Freedom Bridge
I was glad to be back in beautiful Lake Havasu City this week to join Mayor Cal Sheehy, local leaders, and state partners for the groundbreaking of the Freedom Bridge. This project has been talked about for decades, and it was great to see it finally move forward. Lake Havasu City deserves infrastructure that puts public safety first and meets the needs of its growing community.
For years, the London Bridge has been the Island's only connection to the mainland. That creates a serious challenge when emergencies strike and residents need a safe way out. The Freedom Bridge will provide a second route, improve emergency access, and help protect families, residents, and visitors.
I congratulate everyone who worked to make this milestone possible. The Freedom Bridge is aptly named-it will provide greater security, more reliable access, and peace of mind when it matters most. This is about more than concrete and steel. It's about protecting lives, strengthening our communities, and delivering the infrastructure Arizonans need.
District Highlights: Helping a Kingman Veteran Receive His Purple Heart
It was an honor to be in Kingman this week personally present Frank Cole with the Purple Heart he earned through his service to our country. Helping Frank and his family recover this long-overdue recognition has been a years-long effort, and I was grateful to see it finally come together.
Frank's family traveled from California and elsewhere to be in Kingman for this special occasion. His daughter shared that receiving his Purple Heart was the one thing her father had hoped for most. Knowing how much this medal meant to Frank made the presentation especially meaningful.
Our veterans answered the call to serve, and they deserve the recognition and gratitude they have earned. I was proud to present Frank with his Purple Heart and share challenge coins with his family. It was a privilege to help Frank receive this honor and to stand alongside his family for a moment they will always remember.
Constituent Casework: Delivering Results for Arizonans
Helping constituents navigate the federal government is one of the most important responsibilities of my job, and I take great pride in helping people cut through red tape and get results.
This week, my office helped secure the resolution of two long-standing IRS issues, resulting in more than $237,000 in refunds for two Arizona families. A couple from Wickenburg are set to receive $114,850, while another couple from Yuma are set to receive $122,848. After working with the Taxpayer Advocate Service, both cases have been resolved, and the families can finally receive the refunds they were owed.
When a federal agency fails to respond or a constituent encounters a problem they cannot resolve alone, my office is here to help. Whether it involves the IRS, the VA, Social Security, or another federal agency, my team will work to get answers and pursue a resolution.
If you are having trouble with a federal agency, please contact my Goodyear district office at 623-707-0530 or schedule an appointment. Helping Arizonans solve real problems and ensuring their government works for them is a responsibility I take seriously.
Biden DOJ Targeted Hundreds of Thousands of Republican Supporters
Shocking revelations this week raise serious questions about the Biden Administration's weaponization of the federal government against Americans for their political beliefs. A Senate Judiciary Committee memo revealed that Jack Smith's investigation collected personal data on approximately 639,000 Republican donors and voters, including names, addresses, birthdates, and credit card information. The data reportedly included individuals who purchased MAGA merchandise. Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley rightly warned this effort amounted to an attempt to "map out the entire Republican Party apparatus."
The federal government has no business compiling dossiers on Americans because they support Republicans or President Trump. This is an alarming abuse of government power that threatens privacy, free speech, and the right of every American to participate in the political process without fear of retaliation. We must get to the bottom of who authorized this conduct and hold anyone who abused their authority accountable.
Banks Must Not Punish Americans for Their Beliefs
More shocking reports this week revealed that major banks allegedly denied Americans access to financial services because of their political and religious beliefs. A 47-page report from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency found that JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and six other banks closed accounts belonging to MAGA-affiliated businesses, pro-life groups, and Christian organizations between 2020 and 2025. The report also found that some banks cited Southern Poverty Law Center designations as justification.
No American should be denied access to banking because of their political views, religious faith, or support for conservative causes. This is an outrageous abuse of corporate power and a direct threat to free speech and religious liberty. Banks should serve customers fairly, not act as political gatekeepers. Americans should never have to choose between their beliefs and access to the financial system.
