Malta National Day

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Malta as you celebrate 60 years of independence. The United States cherishes its deep-rooted friendship with Malta, a bond that has flourished since the founding of our nation over two centuries ago.

We commend Malta for its unwavering support of transatlantic and European values. Maltese leadership on the UN Security Council and as chair of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe has been exemplary. We are confident our collaboration will deepen based on our shared dedication to supporting human rights and promoting peace and prosperity, and through the people-to-people ties that bind our two nations together.
