Warren Statement on April 2025 CPI

Washington, D.C. - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:

"Last week, the Fed warned that the risks of higher inflation and higher unemployment are increasing because of President Trump's trade wars. President Trump's worldwide tariffs are still unprecedented in their scope and levels. Consumers and businesses will feel little relief from President Trump folding to Xi Jinping and are bracing for supply chain disruptions and even empty shelves. Congress needs to step up now and rein in the President playing red light, green light with tariffs."
