Mayor Ed Lawson commended the Sparks High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team for an outstanding and historic season, becoming the first Lady Railroaders team in more than 22 years to advance to the NIAA playoffs.

Mayor Ed Lawson proclaimed the month of April as Wait Until 8th Month to encourage families to delay giving children smartphones until at least the end of the 8th grade, to promote and protect children's mental and physical health.

The appointment of Dian VanderWell as the Sparks representative and Charlene Bybee as the TMWRF representative on the Western Regional Water Commission, each for a two-year term ending March 31, 2028.

The Interlocal Agreement with the Truckee River Flood Management Authority (TRFMA) to reimburse the City of Sparks $75,000.00 for work with House Moran Consulting, Inc., regarding hydraulic modeling and flood mapping of the North Truckee Drain and preparation of a Letter of Map Revision.
Public Hearing and Action Items Unrelated to Planning and Zoning
Council held a public hearing and approved an ordinance amending Sparks Municipal Code "Water and Sewage" to increase sanitary sewer user rates, increase the sanitary sewer connection fees, and increase septage rates, and providing for other matters properly related thereto, effective April 1, 2026.
