Manhattan Project National Historical Park Celebrates 10 Years with Special Events in Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge, Tennessee: Come celebrate Manhattan Project National Historical Park turning 10 years old on Thursday, November 13, 2025, with special events throughout Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This day of FREE events kicks off at 11:00 AM EST with an opening program at the Oak Ridge Civic Center/Convention Center (1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830) with speakers from the National Park Service and the City of Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge museums are offering free admission during regular hours for this anniversary.

Event Schedule:
6:00 am - New Hope Center at Y-12 National Security Complex opens until 4:30 pm.

9:00 am - American Museum of Science and Energy & K-25 History Center open with free admission until 5:00 pm.

10:00 am - Children's Museum of Oak Ridge & Oak Ridge History Museum open with free admission until 4:00 pm.

11:00 am - Opening remarks from NPS and City of Oak Ridge at Oak Ridge Civic Center/Convention Center

12:00 pm - Park staff and volunteers at local museums providing interpretation on the Manhattan Project and the first 10 years of the park.

1:00 pm - Splitting the Atom : Ranger Program in AK Bissell Park

4:00 pm -Panel discussion at American Museum of Science and Energy.

5:00 pm - Free showing of Oppenheimer at American Museum of Science and Energy.

Visit the park's calendar for other upcoming programs. The park now offers programs weekly on Wednesday, Thursdays, and most Saturdays.
