The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is proud to present the Michigan Water Color Society 77th Annual Awards Exhibition showcasing artwork selected from members of the society from January 9 through January 24, 2025. An opening art reception will be held on Sunday, January 12, from 3-5 p.m. that is free and open to the public.
The 77th Annual Michigan Water Color Society Exhibition features 28 works selected for recognition by Juror Stan Kurth, who reviewed 193 submissions entered by 105 artists. Stan Kurth is an award-winning artist and instructor, best known for his intuitive approach to painting. The Michigan Water Color Society hosts annual juried exhibitions around Michigan. From the annual exhibition of roughly 60 paintings, the juror selects 30 of the top paintings to travel around the state to support the local art communities. The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is pleased to share the best in watercolor painting of members from around the State of Michigan.
Established in 1946, the Michigan Water Color Society founders were an enthusiastic group of young artists who envisioned an organization that increased awareness of watercolor painting in Michigan. Their mission was to further watercolor education while maintaining high standards artistically, all while focusing on integrity, professionalism, and being a forum open to all points of view.
The Michigan Water Color Society award winning artists include: Diann Benoit Jameyfield, Bill Brinker, Mike Chafetz, Sarah Crabtree, Patricia Davenport, MaryAnn Dunn, Janet Faerber, Lisa Flahive, David Giordan, Richard Goff, Mary Guntzviller, Jacqueline Hancock, Tina Hotchkiss, Thomas Hubley, Carole Hunnes-Nielson, Michael Ingle, Victoria Jendretzke, Natalie Knight, Tracy Lyons, Diane Matz, Catherine McClung, Stacie Rose, Ron Scott Teachworth, Laura Whitesides-Host, Kent Wiejaczka, Pamela Wilburn, Denise Willing-Booher, Suzanne Wirsing, Paula Zaks, and Lori Zurvalec.

This art exhibit at The Gallery at Cherry Hill is free and open to the public during gallery hours: Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.; during all public performances; or by special appointment arranged via email to [email protected].
