WVU Hearts of Gold dogs to graduate, enter service

WHAT: The West Virginia University Hearts of Goldprogram will hold a graduation ceremony for service dogs and their partnered veterans following the completion of required training.

WHO: Hearts of Gold staff, donors, volunteers and veterans

WHEN: Saturday, March 28, noon to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Natural Resources Center at the WVU Research Forest, 1397 Chestnut Ridge Road, Bruceton Mills

NOTES: Hearts of Gold is a partnership between the WVU Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Human Animal Bond, and places service dogs with veterans who have mobility and/or psychiatric disabilities.

The program will serve as a celebration for the three dog/veteran teams that have completed the training program, but also as recognition of the hard work put in by the dogs, their foster parents and the donors that allow Hearts of Gold to remain successful year after year.

Hearts of Gold staff will be available for interviews before and after the ceremony.
