People’s Republic of Bangladesh Signs its Fifth Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2026-2032

Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed the Bangladesh Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2026-2032 on 18 March 2026. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Bangladesh has been an IAEA Member State since 1972. Its 2026-2032 CPF identifies seven priority areas:

  1. Nuclear and radiation safety and nuclear security
  2. Energy
  3. Food and agriculture
  4. Human health
  5. Water and the environment
  6. Nuclear knowledge development and management
  7. Radiation technology and industrial applications
