President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the President congratulated him on the New Year and extended his best wishes.
"The year 2024 was unique in terms of Armenia-EU relations. Indeed, it can be noted that it was a year of achievements for us in terms of developing bilateral relations, and the challenges we set ourselves are truly being addressed. In the context of building our relations, the atmosphere is positive, mutually understandable, and acceptable. I can assure You on behalf of the Republic of Armenia that we are ready and will continue to make efforts to expand the scope of our cooperation. I hope that 2025 will also be a year of new successes and achievements in this regard," President Khachaturyan stated.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Ambassador noted: "I would like to thank You for your personal support and interest in strengthening EU-Armenia relations. The open and focused approach demonstrated last year was very important for the achievements You mentioned. I hope we can also rely on Your support and goodwill during this new year.
I would like to extend my best wishes to You personally and to the Armenian people on the occasion of the New Year. May it be a year of success, accomplishments, and peace. The EU remains committed to its efforts to establish peace and stability in the region. We are dedicated to further strengthening EU-Armenia relations."
During the meeting, Ambassador Maragos presented and summarized the delegation's activities and programs implemented during the past year.
The sides also discussed upcoming programs and opportunities for further development of cooperation. Both sides emphasized the importance of efforts aimed at establishing and strengthening democratic institutions.
In his remarks, the President of the Republic highlighted Armenia's readiness to advance multi-layered cooperation with the European Union and expressed hope for new achievements in areas of mutual interest in the year that has started.
