Salt Lake City, Utah - April 16, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced the appointment of five leaders in agriculture to serve on the Utah USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) state committee.
Members of the FSA state committee are appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and, in support of the Trump Administration's Farmers First commitment, members of the FSA state committee are responsible for the oversight of farm programs and county committee operations, resolving program delivery appeals from the agriculture community, maintaining cooperative relations with industry stakeholders and keeping producers informed about current FSA programs.
Each FSA state committee is comprised of three to five members including a designated chairperson. The individuals appointed to serve on this committee for Utah are:
Jana McMurdie, Chair (Tremonton) - McMurdie is a rancher who co-manages a regenerative livestock operation and direct-to-consumer beef business while supporting daily ranch work and overseeing marketing, order fulfillment, and customer relations. In addition to her ranching experience, she serves her community with her background in nursing and nutrition.
Allen Dyreng, Member (Gunnison) - Dyreng is a dairy and crop producer who managed a multi-generation farming operation for more than 40 years, overseeing herd management, feed production, budgeting, and conservation-minded land and water practices. He brings extensive leadership experience in water governance through two decades as president of the Gunnison Irrigation Company. His background also includes serving on the Gunnison City Council, the Utah State Dairy Herd Improvement Governing Board, and multiple community organizations, along with recognition for humanitarian service and agricultural leadership.
Jake Harward, Member (Mapleton) - Harward is a third-generation producer involved in a family farming operation that raises sweet corn, vegetables, and premium hay, along with roadside produce stands and seasonal agritourism activities. He has lifelong experience in crop and cattle production and previously served nine years on his local FSA county committee. His background also includes community leadership through local boards, irrigation and Farm Bureau involvement, and coaching youth sports.
Willis LeFevre, Member (Vernal) - LeFevre is a rancher with more than 40 years of experience managing a diversified livestock operation focused on bull genetics, herd improvement, and quarter horse breeding, along with pasture and facility management. He combines hands-on production expertise with leadership in rural business development and community service, including current responsibilities as a county commissioner guiding infrastructure, resource planning, and economic initiatives.
Richard Wilde, Member (Croydon) - Wilde is the managing partner of a multi-generational ranching operation spanning northern Utah and Wyoming, where he manages private, state, and federal land. He previously served as Utah's Commissioner of Agriculture, a state legislator, and a Morgan County Council member and chair, bringing experience in statewide emergency response, public policy, and conservation work, including early leadership with the Morgan Conservation District.
"These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state," said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. "Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump's America First, Farmers First policies."
FSA helps America's farmers, ranchers and forest landowners invest in, improve, protect and expand their agricultural operations through the delivery of agricultural programs for all Americans.
