North Port Parks & Recreation receives top honors in statewide awards

The Florida Festivals & Events Association (FFEA) recently announced the winners of its annual SUNsational Awards during their 32nd Annual Convention & Expo. The Program recognizes members' innovation, individuality and creative collaboration.

Nominations were accepted in ten categories, and there were over 200 entries.

North Port Parks & Recreation received the following:

  • 1st Place - Event Recap - 2025 Impact Report
  • 3rd Place - Social Media Campaign - Poinsettia Parade & Festival

"Being recognized among so many exceptional organizations across Florida is a meaningful achievement," said Sandy Pfundheller, Parks & Recreation Director. "These awards reflect our team's passion and thoughtful approach to sharing the stories behind our programs and services. By keeping our community well-informed and engaged, we strengthen connections and highlight the vital role our parks, facilities and events play in the lives of North Port residents."

Nominations were judged by a blue-ribbon panel representing media outlets, printing companies, website designers, photographers, promotional marketing professionals and social media experts.
