New Hampshire Remains #1 for Taxpayer Return on Investment

CONCORD, NH - Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte announced that New Hampshire has been ranked the #1 state in the nation for taxpayer return on investment for the 11th consecutive year, according to a new report from WalletHub.

"The New Hampshire Advantage is worth protecting, and we're doing exactly that," said Governor Kelly Ayotte. "By keeping taxes low, spending responsibly, and staying focused on results, we are making sure New Hampshire remains the best place in America to live, work, and raise a family."

Governor Ayotte continued, "Our focus is simple: make every taxpayer dollar work harder and ensure New Hampshire continues to deliver the best return on taxpayer investment in the country."

The report credits New Hampshire's lack of a state income tax and low tax burden as major contributors to the ranking. New Hampshire outperforms nearly every other state in key areas, including the lowest crime rate, the third-lowest air pollution levels in the country, and one of the nation's strongest public education systems.

New Hampshire also has one of the lowest unemployment and poverty rates in the country.
