The countdown to Election Day is officially on, following our September 12th Kickoff Rally, phone bank, and Canvass at the LA Fed.
Over 250 affiliates turned out ready to get the word out to voters in support of Mayor Karen Bass and Marrisa Roy for Los Angeles City Attorney.
The kickoff rally featured a host of labor leaders and local elected officials, including Max Arias, Executive Director of SEIU 99; Teamsters Vice President At-Large and Principal Officer of Teamsters Local 399; Lindsay Dougherty; Charles Leone, LA Cities Coordinator at SEIU 721; Veronica Gunn, President of AFSCME DC36; Patrick Moran, AFSCME International President; Assemblymember Mark Gonzalez; Senator Maria Elena Durazo; Mark Ramos, UFCW 1428 / LACDP President; and Los Angeles City Councilmembers Eunisses Hernandez, Imelda Padilla, and Heather Hutt, all touching on the importance of union members coming in strong to get the vote out.
The rally closed with Mayor Karen Bass and Marissa Roy thanking all the union members who have supported their campaigns and visions for Los Angeles.
