LA Labor Movement Stands Resolute: Boycott Starbucks

After five years of organizing and 700 wins, Starbucks continues to break the law and refuses to finalize a fair union contract. Starbucks remains the biggest violator of U.S. labor law in modern history.

Baristas have now called for a total boycott of Starbucks until they reach a fair contract.

The LA labor movement stands in solidarity with baristas demanding that Starbucks finalize a fair union contract guaranteeing better pay, improved staffing, and enough hours to live on.

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor passed a resolution at the September 2026 House of Labor delegates' meeting pledging to operate as a Starbucks-free union organization for the duration of the boycott.

As such, the LA County Federation of Labor encourages its members, affiliates, and partners to support unionized Starbucks baristas by refraining from purchasing Starbucks products until Starbucks finalizes a fair union contract with organized workers.
