Baker McKenzie Advises Planzer on Acquisition of Sifte Berti

Baker McKenzie advised Planzer Holding AG ("Planzer") on its acquisition of the Italian logistics company Sifte Berti, expanding its network in Italy. This purchase complements Planzer's existing operations in Italy, which began in 1989 and include several previous acquisitions.

Planzer, established in 1936, is a family-owned Swiss logistics company offering a comprehensive portfolio of services and total solutions that extend far beyond its core competencies in national cargo transport and warehouse logistics. For some years now, Planzer has not only been serving business customers, but private customers as well. With its roots in the Limmat Valley, the logistics company now employs a staff of over 6800, including more than 400 apprentices, across 79 locations in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, Liechtenstein and Hong Kong.

Sifte Berti, founded in 1969 in Lainate (in the area next to Milan), has seven locations in Italy, with 300 employees, 40 vehicles and 200,000 square meters of warehouse space.

Baker McKenzie Switzerland advised Planzer on all legal matters related to this transaction.

The team was led by Partners Alexander Fischer (M&A, Zurich), Alessandro Celli (Corporate and Commercial Strategy, Zurich) and Paolo Ghiglione (M&A, Milan) and consisted of Francesco Pisciotta (partner, tax, Milan), Francesca Divetta (associate, Antitrust & Competition, Milan), Francesca Montefusco (associate, Real Estate, Milan) and Giacomo Lamperti (trainee lawyer, Milan).
