DCAA supports $15 million False Claims Act violation

By DCAA Staff Writer

Fort Belvoir, Va. -

DCAA Operations Investigative Support Division (OIS) Auditor Russell Hafter and Supervisory Auditor Myron Antoniw reviewed contract information, analyzed sales transactions and created damage models for a $15 million False Claims Act case. DRI Relays Inc. (DRI), a subsidiary of TE Connectivity Corporation (TEC) agreed to pay $15.7 million to resolve False Claims Act violations that it supplied military parts that did not meet military specifications. The United States alleged that DRI invoiced for military grade relays and sockets when it knew those parts did not meet the testing requirements to be deemed military grade throughout various DoD contracts from 2015 to 2021.

DCAA supported the investigation alongside Special Agents of Department of the Army, Criminal Investigation Division; Department of Defense Inspector General, Criminal Investigative Service; and the Department of Justice Commercial Litigation Branch - Civil Division.
