Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wang Yu Attends the Handover Ceremony of Emergency Humanitarian Assistance to Somalia's Awdal Region

On December 8, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, attended the handover ceremony of China's emergency humanitarian assistance to Awdal region in northern Somalia at the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) headquarters.

In his remarks, Ambassador Wang said that China upholds the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, and has provided emergent humanitarian assistance to Awdal region at the request of the Federal Government of Somalia. China is the first country to offer drought relief support to Somalia, which once again demonstrates the friendship, care and support of the Chinese side for Somalia through practical actions.

On behalf of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Mahamoud Moallim Abdulle, Commissioner of SoDMA, expressed deep gratitude for China's assistance and appreciated China's constant supports to Somalia in times of hardship,which Somali government and people will never forget. He said Somalia is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in the humanitarian field.
