IFRS and IDB join forces to advance sustainability disclosure in Latin America

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), IDB Invest, and the IFRS Foundation have announced a strategic partnership to promote adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The collaboration aims to support both public and private sectors through an action plan that includes knowledge sharing, capacity building, and targeted policy engagement. These efforts are designed to accelerate regional alignment with global sustainability disclosure practices. The partnership signals strong regional commitment, with the IDB also aligning its own disclosures through a multi-year roadmap.

Capacity building initiatives like this lay the groundwork for greater transparency and comparability of ESG information. We hope to see high-quality digital disclosures that meet international expectations.
