As part of a state visit, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, visited the Georgian National Museum, where she was received by the First Lady of Georgia, Tamar Bagrationi, Georgia's Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze, her deputy, Giorgi Mirtskhulava, and the museum's General Director, David Lordkipanidze.
The guests explored the museum's permanent exhibitions, including The Stone Age in Georgia, which showcases some of the most significant archaeological finds from across the country.
The First Ladies also toured the exhibition space Archaeological Treasures, which features unique jewelry pieces discovered within the territory of Georgia, dating from the 3rd millennium BCE to the 4th century CE. The exhibition offers a compelling insight into the country's earliest cultural traditions.
During the visit, the First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, presented the Georgian National Museum with five unique Azerkhalich carpets, handwoven according to traditional techniques using silk and wool threads.
