NJCPA Opens Annual Food Driveto Benefit Community FoodBank of New Jersey

- Emerging Leaders Council Organizes 17^th Food Drive -<_o3a_p>

ROSELAND, N.J. - The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has launched its seventeenth food drive to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). Organized by the NJCPA's Emerging Leaders Council, the food drive runs until Nov. 16.

Financial donations can be made online at njcpa.org/fooddrive directly with the NJCPA or at any of the organizations listed below (unless specified as no online availability). Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the office locations listed below (unless otherwise specified) or at the NJCPA at 105 Eisenhower Parkway, Suite 300, in Roseland by appointment (contact Keessy Marcano at [email protected]). "Food insecurity is a huge problem throughout the state of New Jersey. Approximately 1 in 10 New Jerseyans experience some form of food insecurity. That is why food drives are so important. It helps your neighbors across the state get the food they need to support themselves and their families," said Matthew J. Mojica, CPA, associate manager in financial reporting at Prudential Financial and chair of the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council.

"The start of our food drive is a wonderful reminder about the great ways CPAs contribute to their communities on a daily basis. Aside from advising their clients, organizations and boards on financial matters, CPAs give their time annually at this event, which shows how strongly they feel about giving back, collecting donations and warding off hunger in the state," added Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, MA, IOM, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.

The food drive is hosted by the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council, an appointed leadership group comprised of NJCPA members with up to 10 years of experience, including new licensees and aspiring CPAs. Since 2010, the NJCPA has donated nearly 30,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to CFBNJ. Last year, the NJCPA collected more than 2,000 pounds of donations and more than $34,000 in contributions.

CFBNJ, which celebrated its 50^th anniversary in 2025, partners with more than 800 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other feeding programs in the state. It provides more than 90 million meals annually through its network.
