On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has sent sincere greetings to Finland on Independence Day
'Lithuania and Finland share a deep and enduring bond as neighbours, allies, and partners, united by democratic values, freedom, and security. Our close cooperation across the Nordic-Baltic region, within the European Union, and through NATO demonstrates the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to regional stability.
In today's challenging security environment, including hybrid and cyber threats and tensions in the Baltic Sea region, our collaboration is more important than ever. Lithuania greatly values Finland's role in enhancing resilience, protecting critical infrastructure, and contributing to the security of our shared region.
As Russia continues its brutal war against Ukraine, Lithuania and Finland remain steadfast in providing strong political, humanitarian, and practical support to Ukraine. Together, we uphold our shared responsibility to assist Ukraine until it achieves victory and the full restoration of its sovereignty.
I am confident that the friendship and cooperation between our peoples and governments will continue to flourish, strengthening the Nordic-Baltic region, the European Union, and NATO for generations to come,' reads Prime Minister's message of greetings.
