Access and safety for residents in the Elsanor community have been significantly enhanced following the completion of a comprehensive roadway upgrade on Pate Road by the Baldwin County Highway Department.
The 0.8-mile dirt roadway has been fully paved, providing a smoother and safer driving surface for the families who rely on the corridor each day. The project included utility relocations, drainage improvements, paving, striping, and sodding to ensure long-term durability and improved stormwater management.
In addition to improving drivability and reducing dust and mud, the upgrades help address sediment transport concerns, supporting improved environmental outcomes in the surrounding area.
All construction work was completed by in-house crews as part of the Baldwin County Commission's ongoing dirt road paving initiative. The program is designed to enhance connectivity, increase roadway capacity, improve public safety, and promote environmental stewardship throughout Baldwin County.
