In its meeting on September 22, the Vantaa City Council approved the environmental health tariff after a vote. Changes to the tariff are needed as the scope of application of the Tobacco Act expanded on August 1, 2025, to include the sales of smokeless nicotine products.
The basis and fee list for the Vantaa environmental health tariff were previously approved by the City Council on November 27, 2023. Notifications, applications and other monitoring relating to smokeless nicotine products will become subject to a fee, meaning that the tariff and its appendix must be updated in this regard.
In addition, small clarifications have been made to the tariff regarding the fees for the monitoring of food aid actors and systematic sampling by food control.
Furthermore, a new size category for large retail shops has been added to the tariff appendix. Monitoring the operations of large shops will require more time than before. The supervision fee is based on the time used, meaning that the fee must be updated. In other respects, the tariff's principles, hourly price and fees will remain the same.
