These awards reflect the heart of what makes the energy efficiency community so special: collaboration, innovation and a deep commitment to serving Northwest customers.
NEEA Executive Director Becca YatesOn Dec. 8, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance recognized the Bonneville Power Administration's Administrator and CEO John Hairston during the organization's Leadership in Energy Efficiency Awards ceremony.
The annual ceremony highlights individuals and organizations propelling energy conservation efforts, initiatives and practices throughout the Northwest. "These awards reflect the heart of what makes the energy efficiency community so special: collaboration, innovation and a deep commitment to serving Northwest customers," NEEA Executive Director Becca Yates said.
Hairston received NEEA's 2025 Chairperson's Award for his work advancing energy conservation, transforming energy markets and pursuing BPA's mission to deliver reliable, affordable electricity through the region. Jamae Hilliard-Creecy, BPA Executive Vice President of Business Management and Development and NEEA board member, presented the award alongside Yates.
"This award reflects the work over many years as BPA, along with our many partners, have acquired nearly 2,600 average megawatts of energy savings, which is enough energy to fuel 1.9 million homes for a year and results in an estimated $2.3 billion in annual ratepayer savings," Hairston said. "I am consistently impressed by the collaboration across all levels of the energy sector to continue building the region's energy efficiency powerhouse. Our shared accomplishments have stretched the value of the Federal Columbia River Power System and helped to keep power rates low for consumers."
