UAA women's hoops unveils Shootout field, 2025-26 schedule

Anchorage (Aug. 14) - The UAA women's basketball team will hit the Alaska Airlines Center hardwood for 16 contests in 2025-26, including a pair of games against NCAA Div. I competition in the ASRC/ConocoPhillips Great Alaska Shootout.

The Seawolves will play host to the state's premier basketball tournament Nov. 21-22 when they welcome D-I programs Bowling Green, St. Thomas and UC Irvine in the Shootout. This marks the second straight Shootout field with all four teams coming off winning seasons.

UAA opens the Matt Thune coaching era Nov. 7-8 with home contests against NAIA foe Northwest University, and will host key NCAA Div. II West Region contests Nov. 18 against Hawaii Hilo and Nov. 28-29 against UC Merced.

On the road for all of December, the defending champion Seawolves return to the Alaska Airlines Center for their Great Northwest Athletic Conference home openers Jan. 1 against Northwest Nazarene and Jan. 3 against fellow NCAA Tournament qualifier Central Washington.

Other key home dates include Jan. 10 against Alaska Fairbanks, Jan. 24 against NCAA qualifier Montana State Billings, Feb. 12 against Western Washington, and senior night on Feb. 28 against Saint Martin's.

The postseason starts with the GNAC Tournament, Mar. 5-7 in Bellingham, Wash., with the NCAA West Regional Championships to be played Mar. 13-16 at a to-be-determined site.
